Yes, whilst the DDRC-88D can handle up to 192kHz, you have to disable the encryption so 44/48 is the maximum I can send to the speakers via the 88D. In fact, it's even worse than that. I had to avoid connecting input 1 on the DDRC-88D because it was having trouble locking on to the SPDIF output from the G61R changing frequency (there might be a firmware update for it, I haven't checked in a while). So actually the 88D is running fixed 48kHz even with 44.1kHz signals. My ears are happy with what I hear although ideally I would put the 88D between the HD621 and G61R. I'm still weighing up options to make that happen. It would give me subwoofer correction in Dirac, rather than a separate MiniDSP unit as I have to today.

If I can get coax/optical into HDMI somehow, I can probably do it and switch MHR back on.

For those special M DSP modes, it doesn't impact them since the RC takes place post processor and the 88D generates it's own test signals within itself during measurements. Other than for bringing the speakers out of standby, I don't even need the G61R powered on for that.

If I moved the 88D between the HD621 and G61R, it still shouldn't impact Trifield etc if I run the Dirac measurements using a discrete DSP preset like Movie6 (correct me if I'm wrong!)
