Hi Jim

If the hype is real, we should be able to hear the difference from an MQA track without needing the hardware to indicate its file format ? Just crossing fingers that the format really delivers the breaktrhough in sound. Ive heard it on MQA files downloaded from online stores, but Tidal streaming would be like crack on demand.

Another suggestion hopefully helpful - in Control:PC/Mac I belive you can tag tracks, so you can set up a Tag for MQA and tag all the tracks so they can be filtered at a click. Saves a lot of changing titles and editing metadata.

Anyone with an 818v3 or other M MQA decoding endpoint check the "pass through MQA" box in the Tidal settings?

I can't find that box but I am getting MQA from my 808v6 (core running on MC200) if I favourite an album in the Tidal app, and then add it to my library with the iPad app. It's a bit clunky but I can live with that for now. The fact that we are getting MQA via Tidal is brilliant. I'd almost given up hope. What a fantastic initial selection.

Think I just managed it at 2AM - exciting:

- go to Tidal website and download App for OS.
- sign in to App
- Search what's new - albums - masters
- click the blue star on each album you want to add to favourites
- go to controlmac
- go to play - explore - tidal - my library - my favourites - albums
- click on + sign and add to library

Family asleep so can't play until tomorrow.

In Control:Mac just go into settings/account and import/sync Tidal music and it will sync all your favourited albums into Sooloos.

Seems to be far more than 162 albums, and I am getting the Blue light with much of the back catalogue of The Smiths, Fleetwood Mac, Zeppelin, Yes, Bowie, Karajan (Warner).

Much bigger launch than it appears. Lots to play.

Just need a MQA search feature rather than referencing Tidal App (Masters) or relying on my dodgy memory.

Very happy to report that the following method works too if you have a large library on TIDAL that is not easy to navigate in Control:PC or Mac

1) Launch TIDAL Desktop App
2) Create a New Playlist
3) Queue the Master Albums into the New Playlist
4) In Control:PC, select TIDAL>Playlists. New Playlist will appear
5) Play from this Playlist to get MQA files. In Control:PC, fileformat says TIDAL but on hardware it says MQA.

Rick, bearing in mind the birth of MQA a couple of years ago was linked directly with TIDAL, It's hard to swallow after all this time that Sooloos is going to require an update to enable access to the TIDAL master albums. Probably money involved somewhere as MQA is no longer owned by Meridian.

Indeed as soon as I saw the announcement I went to my C15 and found no access. The inference on various posts is that the Tidal masters are only accessible on Windows. This household is full of Macs ... I checked and thank goodness the Tidal Masters do appear on the Macs!

At least we have some progress at last.

Some good news at last!

Hector, checked this quickly and accessed the Fleetwood Mac Rumours ( non de lux edition) and it played at 88.2 as shown on my AC 200.

Where do you see the 96?

PDG, also checked well known Roberta Flack Killing Me...

Latest check James Taylor "Mud Slide Slim...MQA 192k", this is a revelation compared to the original. However a note of caution on A to B comparisons Tidal to My Library using 808v6.
It could not keep up with switching between track selections and I ended up in limbo land with no sound.

Only a hard re-boot of 808 (after a few seconds of panic) brought sound back.
