Great news, I do have a question,is the speaker upsampling the signal? I see the high speed light on I was just wondering if that was suppose to happen.

A +1 for how easy it is to listen to music in MQA. It does sound as though the instruments are in the room with me. This is through the E2. I only wish the volume didn't have to be quite so high to kick in the MQA.

Has anyone used the Prime headphone amp as a pre-amp to an analogue system?
And does MQA sound good through it?

A new audiophiles highlight discovered!
In 2L - Eyvind Gimse - Mezzotints: Chamber Music by Ståle Kleiberg
If you like contemporary music, while more the smaller formations preferably (like me for example) finds here a stunningly beautiful album. This applies, in my view, the compositions and the interpretation. And the outstanding transparency, the clear, precise positioning of the instruments and the saliency of each tone is simply enormous. I found this album now by part on two nights and I was like spaced out!
So enjoying music should be.
The whole story of the upstanding quality music in your own home also has its downsides. This weekend I was at a performance of Arvo Pärt's Passio - the live experience was nice, I had friends in the choir - but the sound in this church was very poor - individual instruments were not almost and the solos voices were purely acoustically rather poor. For this, the church was very cold!
So back home - Meridian on, a good cup of tea (or so) and the enjoyment is undimmed.

Another MQA release from 2L. For those that can play both the DXD and decoded MQA versions it should make for an interesting comparison. Marianne Thorsen & TrondheimSolistene - MOZART Violin Concertos (MQA remix 2016) This album from 2L was declared a "Record to Die For" by Stereophile Magazine and won the Spellemann-prize as Best Classical Album when it was first released in 2006. In only a decade this recording with Marianne Thorsen and TrondheimSolistene has manifested as a classic audiophile reference, the worlds very first commercial recording in DXD resolution.
Now we have brought out of storage the original analogue-to-digital converters and analyzed their characteristics in light of recent technical development from MQA. Going back to each individual microphone feed from our archive, Morten Lindberg and Bob Stuart has processed each source to minimize temporal blur and optimize impulse response. From this we have balanced a brand new stereo and rendered a fresh surround sound.

No, the MQA version is a stereo mix.
Maybe they will create a multi-channel version sometime in the future, but there is nothing commercially available yet.

If I stream by TIDAL the Marianne Thorsen/Trondheim/Mozart-MQA Version my 818v3 shows > PCM 2-Ch 44k < and the DSP 8000SE shows > MHR 88k > - no MQA.

Are they really saying that there's that much manual work required for each album? If so, how will this ever get propagated to a large enough albums to make the format realistic?
I hope this is wrong, or I could see MQA going the way of DVD-A.

Then the music on 2L's test bench isn't the full tilt "white glove" MQA or am I misreading something?

I hope this is wrong, or I could see MQA going the way of DVD-A. In this statement I have also been surprised ! I thought the unedited original studio tape is the measure of things . As the RAW format in photography!

This seems to be a Tidal trial promo. So I'm guessing this is about the same MQA album released a few months ago and being used as a hook to get more of us to try Tidal. I will as soon as they have more than "one" MQA album to sample!
