Americana is really coming into its own. Shoulda had Hannah( last name spelled Aldridge)on the list. Just got it last week. Razor Wire is the new CD. It is odd that a Brit magazine is the best cover of Americana. There is an online version of "No Depression" I read also. They are putting out their first print version in a few years in September. Used crowd funding to raise the publication costs.

Try Eve Selis The Red Couch sessions on You Tube, she is playing with Mark 'Twang'.
Eve, from San Diego, is another great American Artist who plays the Little Rabbit Barn regularly.

Listening to Jason Isbell's Somthing more than free album on Tidal. Very good. Chris

I also enjoyed 'Love' Forever Changes as recommended. Very good.

Hayes Carll (yes Double L) is touring the UK right now for the next week or so. I recently bought his last 3 releases KMAG YOYO (2011), Trouble in Mind (2008) and Little Rock(2005).

Exceptional lyricist, a mix between Americana and Texas guitar rock, backed with country band. All excellent on my opinion.

Also part of a group called Hard Working Americans with Todd Snyder. Their (HWA) and Todd's latest releases are worth a spin also. Word craftsmen.

OK, this one could really do with being in a separate thread labelled 'Recommended Killer Rhythm Tracks'.

O Zone Percussion Group, La Bamba, track 'Jazz Variants'

... Start it playing, some really nice rhythm stuff starts off, stick with it. Around 1:40 some amazing drumming kicks in; full of drum skin thwacking slam and oozing substance, probably jaw dropping on some 8000's, sounding fabulous on the 7200SE's mind, I'm listening at 80 volume here.

Anyway, keep listening, same again at 2:44, then just as you were thinking it's all over, hang on until 6:18 and it really lets rip. Some superb and substantial energy in those drum hits and spacial info too. Best listened to ... loud, really loud.


Another album, but not rhythm dominant as such.

Derrin Nauendorf, Live at the Boardwalk, track 'Ghost Town' gorgeous vocals and the accoustic guitar is simply dripping with presence.

Indeed all the album content on the above is very good and all found on Tidal.

In my small room 70 on 7200 is quite enough. I can smell the O-Zone at 6:18 it nearly blew the b----y door off.

Killer base thread might be appropriate!
