I thought I'd upload some photos of my system after a Christmas upgrade smile
Well, the upgrade was to the room rather than the system blush
With girlfriend (semi) approval I was able to paint our siting room so that it is resembles more of a bat cave cinema. The picture quality is a lot better than before with the screen edge fading more into the curtains.
In the spring, we will be redoing the whole room during an extension of the house which will mea, removal of the radiator and carpets and moving the DSW to where the system currently resides and the main system will be moving into a cupboard.

I'm not sure why the photo below is rotated. It is the correct way up in iPhoto!

Peter, looking good! I can imagine the deep purple helps a lot with the image contrast.

You did very well to get approval for an entirely dark colour scheme! I've got a dark wall behind the screen but the rest are pale. You've inspired to me to get some pics of my own up; I'll get round to it tomorrow.

I just listened to this system & it sounds fantastic. Of course, as the original owner of these speakers, I'd listened to it before for many years.

I sold the DSP6Ks-DSP5K5HC to Jose. But he has taken it to a whole new level with his tweeter mods-upgrades. This is a warning to all HHer's: be careful what you sell, you may regret it! I am sitting with DSP5k2s + SW1600s.

Being an old string bass player, I really miss that D6K bass weight and overall integration. AND tweeter deterioration can be subtle, but tweeter replacement wakes you up once again to what these speakers can really do.

Downsizing to 2 channel & smaller speakers was a hard choice, now I have to look at 7200's I fear. Jose says beryllium tweeters are next. He is a very creative guy, so he could make it work if it's possible. I really enjoyed getting to know him, even if I am now suffering from a bad case of seller's remorse.
