If you decided to make the 90 minute drive to Adam's you could stop off at mine (15 mins south) on the way up or back and directly compare 8kSE's to 7200SE's...
I listened to Adam's 8k's yesterday and loved them...

Hi Justin,
Just to add to the info already given. I have a dedicated listening room that's only 3.6M wide x 7M long with speakers firing down the length and my 8k's sound fine. I have painted plaster walls all around with no sound treatment... yet.
I sit probably just slightly back from mid way into the room and there is plenty of adjustment you can make with axis control and mechanically tilting the heads downwards to achieve the sweet-spot you desire.

Any room that can take 7k2s can take 8ks. Unlike some here, I think both give of their best pulled clear of rear and side walls. I have owned both.

Yes it"s the room that needs your careful consideration, fortunately Meridian knew this when they developed the 3 speaker position options, free, boundary and corner frequency response choice settings.
These have always been enough for me, however I have never owned the Telephone box recommended 8K's.
