Hi,

I'm in the market for buying a 2nd hand Range Rover Evoque and the number of them equipped with the larger Surround system are few.

Looking at the description of the two systems it looks like it is just a matter of changing the center, rear speakers, subwoofer and some software parameters...

Is this possible to do? Has any one had it done?

Also an adequate question, how big is the difference in sound?

Now I do have a rather good system at home but it would be nice to have it in the car too.

I think you have to upgrade the engine too to deliver all that power grin

Seriously thiugh, may be worth comparing the specs of the battery and alternator.

I would be shocked if it was that easy. These proprietary systems are often far more technical than meets the eye. To Ian's point, it might not use the same wiring harness and power could be an issue. You might also find that buying the parts needed from the parts dept as being prohibitively expensive.

I have always been surprised someone hasn't stuck an MC200 directly in a car. I suppose the constant start and stop would kill the HD pretty quick. Maybe someone will add an SSD to their MC200 and add a Sooloos system to their existing system via the digital coax. I see cars with sat dishes and WiFi spots, why no Sooloos?

Retrofitting the 825w system is not cost effective, the sparts went on eBay for around 3000. but a new harness is needed to be installed and you have then got to get JLR to code it for you, and they won't.

Sorry guys this thread had drifted way of topic.
Unrelated car exploits as entertaining as they were have moved to Automotive Exploits in the OFF TOPIC forum.
