I think that is a very good point, Steve.

If so, then those that don't care/don't believe can stay that way and not buy a decoder of some sort. I won't matter a jot to them. The content still comes as backwards compatible.

Those that do care/agree that it is better will by a decoder of some sort.

There are plenty of reasons why the labels will be onboard. We have seen them talk about it (Atlantic, Warner etc).

Same for the hardware folks (Onkyo, Arcam etc).

I don't think that this is head-in-the-sand, short-sighted or arrogant.
