Hello Hitchhikers, On the eve of the 20th anniversary of 565 we are pleased to announce the new G65 Surround Controller to our range. G65 pays homage to 565, the world's first all digital surround controller. 565 not only introduced the market to high performance theatre, but also introduced customers to the concept of "music surround" with Trifield, utilising up to 8 loudspeakers to play back two channel sources. Over the course of its production the 565 introduced virtually every feature that is now standard on a modern surround controller. Some of these features include, Dolby Digital, DTS, 7.1 Loudspeaker Layouts, Time Alignment, Bass Management, Firmware Updates, Hardware Upgrades, and Lipsync to name a few. Drawing its name from the iconic 565, the G65 derives many unique technologies and connectivity from the current Reference 861V8 Surround Controller, including 8 channels of balanced analogue outputs, SpeakerLink Inputs, and MMHR connectivity for HD621. G65 performance highlights include a new linear power supply, the full suite of Meridian Resolution Enhancement technologies including up-sampling with apodising, MRC (Meridian Room Correction), MHR (Meridian High Resolution), SmartSource, and enhanced SpeakerLink connectivity for use with DSP Loudspeakers that feature Enhanced Bass Alignment (EBA) and Centre Elevation. G65 delivers a true Meridian experience, providing high resolution audio at the heart of high performance home theatre, whether analogue or a full Meridian Digital Theatre.
Looking back at the 565, we at Meridian are very proud of our pedigree. Looking forward, we are inspired to redefine what is possible in Home Theatre Systems. G65 will be available toward the end of this month. Please contact your preferred Meridian Premium Partner and have a listen.
We promise you will feel more!

Seems to bring everything up to date nicely, bar 7.1 input from HD621. Presumably the system architecture just doesn't support it, unless it was purely a commercial decision. That's the only thing I find disappointing about it really.

Cool! Sounds like it is replacing the G68, correct? Is there a list price indication?

One question. Am I correct in assuming that I can connect the Speakerlink out from my MC600 into this? What does adding a MS200 get me, just more noise?

Yes. No need to add an MS200.
Sooloos, Roon, G series (with LPS upgrade), 800 series (with LPS upgrade), HD621, AC200, Prime and PS, DSPs old and new.
Purdeys, Moke, Leica, 'Blad. Only the best.

Looks like its lost the USB audio input.
Did the G61 have a tuner. From front display in other thread, looks like this might. If so, FM/DAB? and if DAB, any progress on the latest formats?

Presumably no aerial connectors on the back = no tuner inside.
