I'm not really following your argument here at all about what you think M do or don't say or imply about backups and number of HDD. They very clearly state and make several options available to ensure that music libraries are backed up to separate HDD and machines. They clearly state that the multi-HDD Raid1 set ups are not fully protected against total failure and that libraries should be properly backed up. Same applies for the single HDD machines.

Libraries must be backed up... period!
