I stand corrected. I guess there must be another reason that Netstream suggests you separate all these functions. Perhaps for bandwidth issues.
Primary: MD600, MS200 (SpeakerLink to AES), Trinnov ST-2, Ayre V6-xe, Salk SS8 3x LRC. Secondary: MC600 (whole house). Zone one: 568.2, G57, MS200, Spatial Hologram M2SE. Zone 2-6 (Awaiting assignment).

+1 on a lower cost core product. I wonder if a Sooloos Source:One + QNAP + MS200 would work?

In my simple thinking it would, that's my idea too though, at present I have a MS600 not MS200. I plan to add an MS200 soon in another room.
Any reason why such a combo could not work. Regards Huw

Assuming the Source:One is a Core, then it will work. You'll need some means of control, of course (iPad, Control:PC, Control:Mac).

Duncs site does mention that the Source:One is a core (and by inference so is the Source:Five). It's not entirely clear from the data sheets however.
I'll keep digging.
Edit: the Sooloos Sourceless QuickStart Guide on Duncs' site confirms all Source components act as Core
Sooloos, Roon, G series (with LPS upgrade), 800 series (with LPS upgrade), HD621, AC200, Prime and PS, DSPs old and new.
Purdeys, Moke, Leica, 'Blad. Only the best.

That the Source:One can run a core was confirmed here a year or two ago. A couple of people are running them.

The Wiki and Duncs' site does not mention that the Source:Five can act as Core. M's literature says it does but only in passing. Could someone confirm this before I edit the Wiki?
Also I'm pretty sure the Control:One cannot act as Core (wiki unsure) but I can't definitively confirm this until I get home.

Oooh. I've just had an email from Mothership about it.
Nothing new other than that.

I wonder what they mean by 'selected' QNAP products?
Neil
1) MS200, G65, Revivers, DSP5000.2, DSP5000C.2, DSP3100, D1500, SME10/IV.
2) Mac Mini (Roon), Explorer 2, Sennheiser HD6XX.

QNAP NAS drives have different CPUs in them giving graded results on transfer speed / processing power etc. Obviously the more expensive intel CPUs generally have more power than the cheaper Marvell CPUs which are installed in the lower range thus this could well be the selective QNAP products and they generally have less RAM in them too.

With my luck, it won't include the one I have in my rack at the moment.
No mention of the tie up with Meridian on ether of their web sites/user forums (that I could see).
