Keeping your music safe, secure and accessible, Meridians systems, from the 5th August, will be fully compatible with selected products from leading network attached storage supplier QNAP. Now your music collection can grow almost without limit with the security of automatic backup and the latest RAID array protection against hard drive failure.
At the same time, Meridian is offering a plugin for the popular dBpoweramp Music Converters powerful CD Ripper, to allow you to easily and quickly rip or import your music collection and enjoy all there is to know about your favourite tracks and albums, with album cover art as well, of course, as the music itself in true CD quality.
M moving away from proprietary (expensive) storage solutions? Perhaps too much to hope for.
Main system - Sources (Kodi-HTPC, Vero 4k, FireTV, Sat) into Trinnov Altitude 32 (8-16) (+Roon), Trinnov Amplitude 8 amp & Vivid Audio (Giya G3, V1.5) and REL Stentor III speakers. Others: F80 + Raspberry Pi and other Pi systems.
Reading the notes it implies this is an automatic backup solution to a QNAP NAS, many people already back up to a NAS, this looks like it could be a Sooloos based automatic backup.
I hope so, the backup method was overdue an update.
However, before you all rush out and buy a QNAP, we are still awaiting final details of which particular QNAP products and software will be fully compatible.
This info should be available soon and before the forthcoming software update to support this + dBpoweramp.
I suggest you get in touch with your dealers for more info... I Interesting times folks!

The TwinStore was discontinued a couple of years ago. Do you mean redundant in terms of your specific system?
I think the QNAP development must make it cheaper to get into Sooloos and also far cheaper to extend storage e.g. When your 500GB C15 or MC200 gets full up.
None of the previous or existing products will be redundant as a consequence. The move to allow integration of QNAP as primary or secondary storage will give existing owners a choice of how to expand their systems. It will also broaden the potential owner base by appealing to those who may already use QNAP for other purposes.
However: A Meridian system core will still need to be present! So you can't just by a QNAP NAS and a MS200... that won't get you up and running. A core would need to be present and from the current line up, the least expensive option would be a MC200.
