Thanks to JobSeeker for a smooth sale of two DSP3100HCs.
Everything was boxed up nicely and he gave me a variety of cables which I'm sure I will put to good use one day!
Also many thanks for your advice on getting hold of a spare drive.

Thanks to Florian (TheFlow77) from whom I've just bought a 502 with MSR in a pleasant, straightforward, transaction. It arrived this morning, in excellent condition, immaculately packed, and is now set up and running.
For anyone in the UK thinking about buying gear from a European HH, here is a brief run-down of the process, so you know what to expect.
It took about 8 days from us agreeing, to me receiving the 502. I was on a business trip, so it took me a couple of days to get to my bank to initiate the payment. British high street banks can make a direct payment in Euros from a UK account to a European bank account. This is a Single Euro Area Credit Transfer - which costs GBP 15 (Barclays) or GBP 20 (Lloyds TSB). The process is very similar to a UK Faster Payment. You will need the IBAN and the recipient's name. Payment is received in the Euro Area account by close of business on the next day. Allow for a weekend. Shipment by DHL pickup in Germany on Monday, and arrived here in the UK at my home around 07:25 Wed.
Simple and straightforward.

A big thanks to JohnSWimer from whom I purchased a pristine G98DH with a newly replaced disc drive and XP power supply courtesy of Meridian. He brought the unit over and corrected all the errors in my original configuration. A very knowledgable and dedicated Bay Area Meridian owner.
Also thanks to this Forum and its founders/moderators/contributors for all the info.

Bought some 3200 stands off Chris G, they were described as mint and were going to come with spikes. After the deal was concluded it turned out there werent any spikes (or mounting bolts). A small adjustment was made for the spikes and the stands were transferred in a dark lay by. Closer inspection shows marks on the stands and the spike holes are filled with a sticky felt. It turns out there are two sets of spikes missing. I told Chris G I wasnt happy and he kindly offered to take them back. I accepted his offer to return them. Chris G then changed his mind, declined to supply missing spikes (less the adjustment) and has offered to send 'sticky stuff remover' (cheers mate!). Apparently, because I didnt pay RRP, I should have been satisfied. Im not. I bought an item repeatedly described as mint to find many parts missing and having made a blind guess at replacement cost (won't do that again) find myself with a poor deal and a seller crying caveat emptor. What happened to give and take? This is the first bad experience Ive had on this forum. Didnt have to be this way (puts tin hat on).

Just to clarify, the absence of the spikes was discussed before we met in person and before any money changed hands, so in reality before the deal was done. The deal was renegotiated at that time to Tintin's satisfaction.
There were no marks on the stands when they left my possession other than a couple of hairline scratches which were mentioned before changing hands. I took care to remove all fingerprints prior to delivery in person and wrapped them in bubblewrap. If there are marks there now, I do not know what they are nor have the nature of the marks been disclosed to me. The spike holes unfortunately have some sticky residue there but this won't be hard to remove. I'm sorry about that.

I wasn't aware of how specialist the parts are, why would I be? I assumed standard spikes would do, hence the token adjustment I made (after the deal had been agreed).
Apparently Chris G never had the spikes in the first place (or bolts), yet we made a deal that included them.
Call me old fashioned but a few scratches=mint?
So I'll clean up the sticky mess, cheers mate, wasn't going out tonight anyway.

*sigh*
Once again I must point out that I wasn't able to locate the spikes so we agreed a new price to reflect that before monies changed hands. I did offer non-M spikes (I had some that would have fitted but I believe you declined). You could have walked away at this point.
The scratches are so fine you can't see them at normal distances, and they are polishing scratches rather than damage. You have to be looking really close up to see them! I declared them in the interest of being honest but yes, the stands are mint IMO. If you wanted perfect then new would have been the way to go.
Also it's not good etiquette to edit a post (186413) after the other party has already responded. In response to your new points, a poor deal? You've saved well over half on the new price.

Positive feedback for Rick from AI. Bought a brand new MC200 and not only the transaction went very smooth. To my surprise it was a next day delivery from his shop to our house in NL.
I am a very happy owner, and, what a fantastic improvement in sound it gives even on my modest DSP5000 18 bit. I go swimming!
Cheers, Jaap Jan
