We did chat with HQ in Bristol about this and the response was that for clients with 20,000+ albums it would be bad for iPad memory etc. That may be true for the extreme collections.
Agreed, nearly there. Could you not know about stability problems when releasing an app? I wonder whether the delay was going to be too long so they put it out knowing there were some issues. Close but no cigar...
From some of the very well documented issues raised here it seems to me that Meridian should have considered using this forum to invite beta testing of the App before release. A free resource - why not use it?

LOL M are too arrogant and conceited to solicit their customers NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN
Issues with functionality are one thing but crashing is inexcusable
I think Meridian need a chance to resolve the issue before I would judge the app a disaster or not, I don't believe they deliberately released a 'crashing app'? For sure it is disappointing but as I don't know the cause only the effect it seems unfair to condemn it at this time.
Disaster is a very strong reaction to an App with some bugs in it.
Personally, I think the new App has moved the Sooloos platform on a long way over the previous one. But as is usual with M, they seem to insist on making things difficult for themselves.
Quite why M dont use the input of this forum more is beyond me, but they dont and thats that.
I just hope they can channel their resources to address the issues that have been flagged, some of which have been outstanding for a long time, in a timely fashion.
With Apple development, Meridian are stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Apple control their development platform which limits the number of copies of pre release apps that can be distributed for test purposes.
I may be wrong, but I cannot remember the app that Meridian bought along with them last Saturday repeatedly crashing. So clearly, in one of their controlled environments, their app is as stable as any other app that I have encountered including those bundled with the device such as Safari which on my iPhone crashes regularly. But controlled environments are quite different from being in the wild and unfortunately, Meridians ability to perform a public beta even if they were so inclined, are severely limited.
There is no evidence that Meridian released an app that they knew was highly unstable as people are claiming and to insinuate otherwise is purely conjecture.
