I have just downloaded M's new configuration software v3.07 build 3478 this morning. DSW and DSP3300 are there. I haven't had the chance to see what else is new but thought I would let everyone know in case they hadn't seen it yet. M's website is still the same but new programs download from the config program's check for updates.

For those using the +3dB tweak it appears this loop hole has been closed in the latest version of config prog.

Good spot. That would appear to be the case. I expect it is sensible to protect from overdoing it with the new firmware which sets 0dB properly where it can. You wouldn't want 2x 3dB I guess.

I agree if you're planning to have the new firmware update applied. If not keep a copy of Config 3.07 Build 3440 if you don't wish to upgrade FW and retain the +3dB tweak.
Until there's more feedback on the result of FW update I wish to keep all options open.

What does the optional height channels do with a 861v6?
You need to install an OA18 and set that to height (jumper set to 7) which is not documented in the OA18 manual.
Is that for 2+2+2 setting only ?

For me, the Trifield Width fix and apodizing filter update for the G68 processor, and the updates to the DSP5500 speakers, are early Christmas presents. Well done Meridian. Now about installation...

Just read the firmware release notes.
Quite a lot in there for the G61 compared to the G61R and G68.
Curious that there's less in the 861v4/v6 notes, but I assume that for v4 owners who are now on common firmware with the v6 that things like Trifield and Apodising aren't mentioned because they are already present in the v6? I look forward to finding out anyway!

Power amps not muted in standby What does 'Power amps not muted in standby' mean and any implications for power consumption in standby. Is this like the DSP33 kludge of years back when an update to solve comms standby issue appeared to simply prevent DSP33's from going back in to standby.

I wonder what the "new firmware format" means with regard to the new version of the flash upload program ?
