I haven't listened to that many high end speakers, so my opinion does not count much, but unless I happen to hear one that sounds + looks better then I guess I'd stick with them.

Well,
I DID move away from my DSP8000s back to an analogue system. I have the highest praise for the 8ks. In terms of a flexibility, ease of use and fanatastic sounding system it really is supreme but I wanted an analogue system to benefit my turntable a little bit more.
Now my system consists of Sooloos, 808.3 for the digital side, Avid Acutus and Audio Research Ref 2 Phono and Soulution 721 + 710 amps driving a pair of Sonus Faber Stradivari Palladios.

Sorry, but the 8ks just don't do it for me. My preference is withing the horn arena, and the best I've heard was from Avantgarde. Given ridiculous sums of money, I'd drive them with one of the better Wavac valve amps. I would use an 861 as a source/DAC/pre-amp.

I upgraded from a DSP8000 to DSP 8000.2! So if a DSP8200 (or whatever) should come I would go for it! The biggest potential for all new flagships are all the owners of old flagships....

I would have a few rooms specially built to compare. One for a Goldmund Home Theater (gotta have a concrete ceiling, it just makes perfect sense.), another for MBL, another for Meridian, and another for experimenting and then see what room I gravitated towards for music and for movies. personally, I think Meridian is the overall better solution, cabling alone is a nightmare when it comes to analog systems.

Thanks for the reply ... of cause I have been pondering IF I should go with the "upgrade/change" from my current pair of DSP8ks for the past months. It's a lot of money for the change ... and seriously, I love the "older" DSP8k sound. BUT I might just consider a change going for a full HT setup, comprising of 2 pairs of DSP8k, 861v6 and a DSP7200HC. That would answer if suddenly I had that huge wad of cash at my disposal.

I didn't hear much of a difference between DSP8000/DSP8000.2, other things are far more important.
