Alan - I don't have a local Meridian dealer/distributor, do you know (or have any idea) how should I go about getting the update when it becomes available?

Thanks in advance!

Plasmatico,

If you are agreeable to providing me your contact details (via PM) I can forward these on to Meridian who will put you in contact with your nearest Premium Partner.

I believe there is a Premium Partner in Miami but regardless, the Firmware will be emailed to you. However, although location is not too much of a factor it probably makes sense to use a Premium Partner in the US.

Please let me know if you need anything further.

Best regards,
Alan

Hello,

I have to after a long while reconfigure my 568.2/598/DSP8000/DSP7000 setup. I was surprised to find that I can no longer download a copy of the tools. As Meridian equipment outlasts any Windows machine, I no longer have a copy lying around!

Could some kind soul PM me the 2.215 Meridian.exe etc.?

Thanks,
Phil

You can still get the legacy config program off Meridians website. You just can't download firmware any more.

Im new to you site. I have recently bought an 861 v2.6 used. There no dealer within 100 miles of us. You have mentioned possible firmware in HH, but I cant find it. I need it to set the unit up. I was trying to upgrade from my 568.2. I never did get the firmware for it either. The 861 came as unit only. Had to buy remote and even the power cord (it came with the wrong one) I downloaded the manual and rear it. The set up without a computer does not seem possible with my system. The download at Meridian is only for version 3 and newer. Did I just make an expensive mistake? Any help you can give would be very welcome.

Thanks John.

Hi John, you have to go the the Meridian software site see link at the bottom of this page. Once there download and run the Meridian Universial Installer.
This installer will then let you download the legacy software configuration tool that you require.

Note: You will also need a RS232 NULL Modem cable to connect your PC/Laptop to the your 861v2. Have a look in the WiKi [top of this page] for more information on this.

Regards,
Carl

Thanks Carl. I think I got the right firmware, but sound like my cabling is not up to par. Also discovered this unit has no analog out card. I believe its the 0A03 card? Do you have any suggestions? Is there a resource in this forum for parts and cables? The link in wiki does not seem to work. Thanks again for the help. John

John,

Welcome to the forum.

If you want info about cards etc look in Duncan's Meridian Info site (link above).

If you would like to buy something stick a WTB ad in the Restaurant (link also above).

John:

If you want to be able to run 5.1 channels (or even 7.1) from your 861, you actually need 2 analog output cards. I assume you can use AO03, but with the v2, you may need the older AO02 instead. Not sure how easy or difficult it will be to find these cards.
