That's OK, I've never got an MRC that I'm happy with.

I'll flash to the latest and then the 'a' version and report back on the all analogue experience.

Just need to get a trusty old CD and do some 'before' familiarisation.

One typical example is that when you fetch back from you equipment,
and you for example 4 or 5 sources enabled/stored before-
after fetch back ALL sources are selected.
That I posted multiple times here with more or less feedback.

I know M has said that apodising at the source is better but I didn't hear anywhere near the improvement using the HD621 apodising as I hear with my 568.2mm using apodising. Maybe apodising in a Meridian player is better but I think the HDMI path may fog the results so to speak or pun intended.

IMHO,

Ron

Fetch always worked fine for me. Although I dont do it all that often.
YMMV

@ DVD Pete

anything that is upsampled will be 'apodized'
You can compare your G91 display with your G68 display to see what signal is being received.

@ 800G
Probably, but, only you will be able to confirm that.

cheers

Thanks Nick - Guess it is time to take the plunge and give it a go.

I can't describe it, but it does sound richer & brighter somehow. Very subtle change, but something's there!

Thanks everyone.

If you run everything through G91 for upsampling. Nothing will get apodized in G68J.

Anything that is lossy DD/DTS won't get upsampled or apodized. I'm not sure what your G91 is doing in that case. Depends how you have it hooked up.

If you are using your G91 as a decoder then everything will use the apodizer in G68.

You Airport might get upsampled through G91 (I'm not sure) so that might be better to hook direct to G68.

Thanks George,

I have continuously wondered what I have the G91 for! Ever since I was tipped off by a Meridian person to "hang on to it" a few years back. I wish I didn't - before the prices dropped.

I'll re-hook things via the G68 sometime.

I was testing with the airport, which is probably why is sounded brighter.

Cheers

Don't forget that the G91 only up-samples in stereo mode.
