Hi All,

We will happily oblige in demonstrating your own music, so feel
free to bring what you wish.

On another matter I have made a descision that having the 810
projector will not really work well enough in the demonstration room.
The screen is only 8ft and I am really concerned that the noise from
the projector will have an impact on the demonstrations. I would rather
be able to spend more time on the audio qualities of M and compare
and contrast different system options.

I know several people will be disappointed about this but I would rather
they be disappointed about not seeing a 140 k projector rather
than they are disappointed with the audio demonstrations.

I will happily listen to your feedback about this and hope you all feel
it will be the best solution. We will instead be able to showcase the
new 3D JVC projector.

On a more upbeat note what refreshments would you like?
Beer or wine or both?

I am confident that the event will far exceed your expectations and
look forward to meeting you all on the Saturday.

Bye for now,

Richard.

Richard,

As much as I'd like to see the 810 the 3d jvc will also be interesting and probably closer to my likely budget.

Personally I'd vote for wine, Mouton Rothschild or Chateau d'Yquem would be fine.

Hi Richard

The 810 is a bit big so understand your point.

Look forward to seeing you

Cheers

As I missed HH2 where the 810 projector was shown this was my main reason for visiting Bristol.

I understand Richard's reasoning behind not showing the 810 but it's very rare for such an esoteric piece of kit to be publicly demonstrated and with such a discerning audience of HHs attending it would have been very interesting to see the reaction to this piece of kit.

Maybe someone else will arrange a public demo.

If you're in the market, suggest you find out if SIM2 will be demoing their 3-chip Range at Bristol.......i.e. the Teatro 80 and 50 as well as the HT5000E (or even the C3x Lumis)

I saw the Meridian 810 and the HT5000 within a week of each other and the HT5000 was easily superior in almost every measure

Since then the HT5000 internals have been significantly upgraded to the HT5000E with very good results........and the new Teatro 50 and 80 Projectors take Performance up another level again.......Brightness 4,500 Lumens and 7,000:1 Contrast Ratio......think Kuro Plasma Brightness and Contrast levels, but on a 15ft wide screen............and that for about a Third of what Meridian is asking for the 810

Having heard the DSP3200's and AC200 yesterday and being totally blown away I
can't wait for everyone to listen to them at the event.

The best sound I have ever heard from a speaker this size/price.

And they look absolutely stunning

You are all in for a treat!!!

Hi,

Rather than a week apart, I saw the Meridian 810 and the HT5000 at the same time at Audio High in Mountain View, CA, about 16 months ago. Both projectors were running simultaneously from the same source and projected onto the same screen. The output of first one, then the other, was blocked by an opaque object to facilitate the comparison. The 810's imagaes were stunning and clearly superior to the HT5000's in detail, color saturation, and 3-dimensionality. The differences were not subtle--at least to this observer's eye (I mean eyes). ;-)

I have just had confirmation that we will have the worlds only prototype MC600 at the event.

Should make for some interesting discussion.

See you all soon.

Regards,

Richard.
