The German Distributor (Armin2)....
Oh, I see, so that user is from Mansour Mamaghani's Audio Reference in Hamburg. Good to know. So I should be cautious when I write in this forum about price differences like others have already

The overkill issue with the 861 is sort of correct, but on the other hand, when others may have sold off their stuff, you will still have that piece....Ok, that is what V4 owners also said, but as I owned an 861 once as well, I can understand why one simply wants to have "that thing".
If that means alot of curtains, then I can only say no wonder why you like alot of treble so much

If it means alot of shelves and huge closets that act a bit like Helmholtz resonators, then you may be right.
In one of our German Home Cinema Forums there is also a Swiss Meridian owner, who puplished his 14 pages professional measurements done by
http://www.wsdg.com/ (Walters-Storyk Design Group). If you read that stuff, maybe one day you will reconsider. Less "stuff", and more of what counts
http://www.beisammen.de/board/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=100037&pageNo=1If you really have that technical backround, you know you want active speakers, you simply need to have them...hehe. I have listened a few times to the active Nautilus. If you instist on B+Ws maybe you can make yours somehow active as well, if they offer tri-amp or quad amp plugs. I do not know. Conclusively, I say as well, sell the B+Ws, go active and then I almost do not care which ones you pick, analogue active or DSP....once you have gone active, you will not go back.
