Why so pessimistically Ronnie?

The ID40 doc refer

"The host 800 Series product is then able to use its own powerful DSP capabilities to perform advanced audio enhancement processing.......The host 800 Series product is then able to use its own powerful DSP capabilities to perform advanced audio enhancement processing, using triple FIFO buffering and upsampling lower sample rate audio streams to 88.2 or 96kHz using Meridian`s [font:Arial Black]world renowned ‘apodising` upsampling technology, and in the case of 861 apply other processing, such as Trifield, for improved presentation on a multi-channel system.

That means the 800 series can apodizing itself-so- and so iam with you-that apodizing should also be available
allways and not depending on the input card.

If it happened as you descripted-extra MIPS in the ID 40-the it will explain a LITTLE the price
of the ID 40.From where you have the price info?
But that also means if you want to connect the 800, the800 have to get a proper outputcard to connect it to the ID40.

I do not understand why this should happened in the case of 800,
because the 800 should have enough MIPS for apodizing and have allready a 8ch card(with aux) the OE22 -and the 861 have allready the ID42.
AND, its a 800 series product....not only the 861 and 808....

Ronnie, iam with you, apodizing should be available at least for M components(to force their equipment sale)
and why spending extra money on that for exististing users(they allready paid with their equipmnet the development of M).
