It seems that BT Virus Protect (aka McAfee) has recently decided that Sooloos TouchPC is a virus and is automatically quarantining it when scanning.

The trouble is that I can find no way of telling McAfee that this specific program is trusted. So when I un-quarantine it and try starting it, guess what, it gets re-quarantined. This is frustrating.

So, other users with Windows 7 and BT Virus Protect and Sooloos TouchPC beware.

And, does anyone know how to make a file trusted by McAfee?

Typically, after posting I found a way...

Open McAfee

Click Navigation

Click Real-Time Scanning

Expand Excluded Files

Click Add files

Select C:\ Program Files (x86) \ SooloosTouchPC \ Sooloos-GO (or wherever you keep your version)

Hope that helps someone else.

I use IObit malware protection and have the same problem. Every time I scan it tags Sooloos. Every time I add Sooloos to the whitelist and somehow it never works.......

Yes, I've had the same problem. Malwarebytes quarantined the Sooloos-go.exe file. I listed it as an exception but the next time I tried to load TouchPC it triggered a virus warning stating that this file was infected with Trojan:win32/Tiggre!plock, which it classed as a severe threat. I uninstalled TouchPC and then re-installed. This initial installation was OK but when it started to download and install the TouchPC update, it immediately triggered the virus warning, which makes me wonder if Meridian's downloadable files are infected. I've informed Meridian and am awaiting a reply

Ran another Malwarebytes scan after uninstalling TouchPC and it picked up SOOLOOSTOUCHPC_INSTALLER.EXE as malware.

I use Norton and always have trouble as described when new releases come along. Lately, it has begun interfering with Sooloos folder uploads after ripping with dBpoweramp. Sooloos sees the folder, verifies the contents and then just hangs. Have to shut Norton down to upload the folder.
