Can someone suggest a USA source for the 5 Pin 240º DIN Plug comm cables used on Meridian equipment? I'm new to the Meridian world having just purchased a used 502 preamp and 507 CD player. Neither unit came with a comm cable. I know Meridian dealers would be one source, but I'm more curious about a third party source from whom I could purchase on-line.

Hi dcg (are we somehow related??)
Thanks for the tips and links. Here's what I'm finding, the Meridian gear uses the 5-pin 240 degree configuration. It's relatively easy to fing the 5-pin 180 degree connectors and cables, as that is the MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) standard. It's the 240 degree version, especially with premade cable assemblies that seem to be harder to locate. I'll keep looking, but so far I'm striking out.
BTW, your system components listing is most impressive! (I'll be they sound that way too)

I have one, possibly two spare 0.6 meter comms leads for sale at £9 each plus postage at cost to the US.
I also have a 5 meter comms cable at £14 plus US postage cost. You could cut this one down for custom lengths if of interest.
I can also let you have some additional genuine deltron 240 degree connectors if you wanted to explore the above option.
Food for thought?

dcg, thank you for your continued assistance. I think I finally understand the correct DIN connectors and wiring pin-outs for the comm cable thanks to another Meridian resource web site http://www.meridian-audio.info/. Under the heading of "500 Series Comms Cables - Cable pin-outs", I found that the cable is basically a shielded, twisted pair cable. I think this is something I can tackle myself, and if that proves unsuccesful, farm out to a local cable assembly contractor. Nice helpful bunch these Meridian hitchhikers...

Colin T, thank you sir for your helpful offer too. I have chewed on the food for thought and I don't think it will be cost effective for me to buy, with across-the-pond shipping, the cables/connectors at this time. Such a small ticket item...
I will attempt the DIY version with 240 degree DIN connectors and low capacitance STP cable. I'll proudly post my success story (or lack thereof) of the DIY comm cable adventure.
If I strike out with DIY, I'll also relay the fruit of my attempt to get a local cable fab company to make some up for me. Maybe this will be helpful to others as well.

The beauty about shipping the cables is that as they are very light they do not cost very much to post eg I am sending a 3 meter M lead to Hong Kong on Tuesday and it costs just £2.07.
