Related to my post in the Systems forum.

I am moving my MS200 from G68 connect to direct connect to the DSP3100s.

I have a Reviver with DIN comms and a DIN to BNC adapter purchased from @Mi'. DIN comms come from the G68 and therefore I have used the BNC comms input for the Reviver.

As I cannot use the system in quite the way I intended atm - G68 to D1 and MS200 to D2, I have experimented with just the MS200 connected to D1 via the Reviver.

Good news I get music from Roon, bad news is I get no comms function - Roon does not 'wake' the speaker up nor does the Roon volume slider affect the speaker volume.

I unplugged the DIN comms input from the G68 and used that directly with the Reviver and it exhibited the same behaviour - so that discounts a faulty adapter or BNC comms connection.

The DSP3100 that I am connecting to is Master and Controller. I have enabled SpeakerLink on the MS200 config page - although music happened without this enabled.

So I don't know if I have wired this incorrectly, not specified something in the MS200 config or the reviver is not performing as I would expect.

Many thanks for any suggestions

Some progress.

Opened up the Din Comms plug from the reviver - the wiring did not look as I would expect from the wiki here - red wire going to pins 3&5, ground to pin 2 and a blue wire to pin 1.

Unsoldering the blue wire from pin 1 allowed Din comms to work - Roon can wake the speaker and control the volume smile

Tried moving to the BNC comms input with the Din to BNC adapter and comms fails to function - will check the wiring of the adapter.

NJR,

The Reviver is the Reviver and don't mix that up with other solution and it's not in the wiki.
The soldering in the DIN plug is correct.
The Reviver and MC200 works at all my customers.

So something with your used Reviver or your other wiring is different.

Robert, thank you for your input.

My reference to the wiki was in relation to the pin-outs of a comms lead - I full appreciate that the Reviver is not detailed there.

I didn't suggest at all that the Reviver was not working for any of your other Customers who have a MS200, it was the fact that it does work for everyone else that I posted here in the hope that fellow members maybe able to shed some light on what I may have done incorrectly.

My wiring is pretty standard as far as I am aware - Comms DIN from G68 to Master 3100 (M5 lead), Comms DIN out from Master 3100 to Slave 3100 (S5 lead), Comms DIN out from Slave 3100 to Slave Centre 3100 (S5 lead). I also eliminated any issues with the existing wiring by unplugging the S5 from the Master 3100 as one of my tests - so only the Reviver Comms were connected.

As you say it is a used item and for whatever reason disconnecting pin 1 has made it work - for which I am grateful. The s/n is 14-0169 if that is of any assistance.

Oh and Ian and I may have got to the bottom of the BNC comms issue too.

Nick
