Given that the MC200 is stand mounted to allow some movement of air around the bottom grill, can anybody see a problem with horizontally mounting the MC200 on 30mm cones possibly giving more circulation than before?

Air flows through the box from bottom to top by convection rising as it is warmed.

The same could not happen nearly as efficiently if it was on it's side with the flow blocked by the components and no clear path to the exit grill.

I think it would be a bad idea.

I believe that internal air movement relies on the vertical orientation, ie whilst part of case acts as a heat sink, it probably also relies on convecting heat up and out with cool air being bought in from lower part of case.
