As it's my first contribution to the forum, Hello Hitchhikers. I'm a long time user of Meridian equipment, dating back to the 1990s when I personally installed the first 200 Series multiroom system in Australia. Currently our system consists of 808v6, MC200 & a pair of non-speakerlink D8000s. The issue is as follows :-
Using TouchPC (SurfacePro 4 Windows 10), The system shows 2 zones '808v6' and 'MC200' and 808v6 is the current zone Using 'Meridian Source Control' I can select and use CD, 2 attached analogue sources but when I select SLS and play tracks from the MC200 music library, I get a 'loading ' message next to the zone name then a few seconds later the zone area shows 'No zone selected Touch here to select a zone'. Only the MC200 zone is visible. The only way to see both zones is to power off and on the 808.
The 808v6 and MC200 are both on the same switch. The switch is connect to the household router That router has only 1 other device on the Ethernet.
I have had good support from the local Meridian specialist but the silly season is upon us and support and suggestions have dried up for the duration. But Meridian sound and functionality are far more important to me than this humbug stuff !!
I have tried :-
Changing all Meridian devices from using DHCP to static IP addresses. I have tried 4 different switches/hubs from no-names, through TP-link to Netgear GS105 I have disconnected the internet and all non Meridian equipment from the network I have moved the router to the listening room, connected Meridian gear and used TouchPC I have moved router to listening room, connected Meridian gear and a laptop via Ethernet running ControlPC Current system has Meridian gear on the Netgear switch via a 1gb port on router, interesting though, switch shows MC200 running at 1gb but 808v6 card as 100mb. Oh yes, I've tried running the switch on a 100mb port also.
and nothing has made any difference to the issue.
Any suggestions on what I should try next ?
Cheers
Mark

Mark, welcome to the forum.
Have you tried reserving IP addresses for your M kit on the router by fixing the IP for their MAC?
Don’t worry about the 808 only showing up as a 100MBs device. I think many Sooloos endpoints were only 100MBs as specking to 1GBs was overkill on the bandwidth needed to stream music.
Sooloos, Roon, G series (with LPS upgrade), 800 series (with LPS upgrade), HD621, AC200, Prime and PS, DSPs old and new.
Purdeys, Moke, Leica, 'Blad. Only the best.

Go into a web browser and put IP address of core followed by /debug (ie 192.168.1.30/debug or whatever is IP address of your MC200)
That will tell you what the MC200 core thinks is connected to it.
Everything you have wired sounds correct - sounds like you have an intermittent cable or hardware fault with ID4x.
If you have 808 and MC200 with static IPs (not preallocated DCHP addresses that many call static) on same subnet, you should will only need | MC200 - switch - 808 - Amp/DSP | to listen to audio on 808 that is stored on the MC200 - you will need to pre-prepare the playlist queue for 808 zone so that your audio control is simply via 808.

Is the MC200 connected to the 808 in any way other than ethernet?

Hello Ian
Many thanks for your reply and advice
/debug shows both zones until I generate the issue above then /debug shows only MC200 (808v6 & ID41 and audioendpoint details don't show in Devices section of /debug report also)
What's significance of 'is slave' as this reads No for both MC200 & 808v6 before issue ?
Anything else I should look for on the report ?

Hello Bruce
No, the MC200 & 808 both use only Ethernet cables to connect to switch and everything else

Cant remember seeing the slave reference so cannot answer that.
It looks to me that ev rything is configured correctly and something physical is wrong - i suspect an issue inside 808 - maybe others can chip in with ID4x reset procedures or other possible faults like card integrity.
I soukd double check all cables, plugs and sockets between switch and ID4x on offchance that its something simple - try blowing in the sockets and if not tried, change network cable and brand of cable. If it was MC200 you probably would have lost the debug screen.
Hopefully it will be simple cable or ID4x reset or seating issue.

Hello Ian
I forgot too mention in the original post that I'd replaced all cables early on in this saga. Thanks Mark
