Bob Stuart interviewed at High End Munich by "TheAlphaAudio" -> very good interview and explanation of how MQA works, how they got there, and where they are going. Highly recommended if you want to learn more about how MQA technology works.

Brilliant interview which really explains MQA. The analog input equals the analog output.

I found the Alphamusic interview a bit frustrating, knowing some MQA info already it seemed the interviewer was asking dumb questions, but Bob was very patient and clear in his answers.

Instead of the BBC collecting my data through iPlayer use I would prefer them to spend my money experimenting with live concert MQA broadcasts (all music genres not just radio 3)

Am I right in thinking that laptop users with an MQA DAC would be the only people that can combine MQA with iPlayer?

Cheers
Tom

The BBC have done a few trials this year streaming uncompressed live concerts in FLAC. FLAC trial
I was suggesting that a MQA trial would be interesting.
MQA DAC would be required plus means of receiving data stream, laptop or other to evaluate.

Also is MQA a good option for storing concerts for BBC in high quality format in the future?

BBC audio R&D have/had at least one former Meridian employee in their group. So, even though they left Meridian quite a while before MQA, it is quite possible that they are still aware of it as the BBC guys are pretty clued up - I have worked with a few on past projects.

So fingers crossed that both sides see the possible synergy if it is technically possible.
