IMHO the way to get the most improvement out of any CSNY album is to eliminate the Y.

After a week on the road, I came back to see this and Thanks for sharing! Have fired it up and also the Fremaux recordings.

Could someone enlighten me why there are 2 versions of the Ninth on this album? The first I just went through, clarity and detail, depth and richness are all improved. Some spots still a thinny amplitude, but thankfully not in the final choral movement.

Kudos to David Hurwitz for keeping these nuggets of gold:

"In the Ninth we are treated to the first ever release of the performance in stereo (alongside the mono version), although the sonic differences really are pretty minimal–a bit less boomy in the bass, perhaps, and better balanced. The most important difference with this latest remastering is that the scherzo now starts on track two, as opposed to the end of track one as in the previous 88-disc big Karajan box. It’s good to see this error corrected. In general, the sonics have come up very well and seem to have a bit more warmth and naturalness as compared to earlier issues. It is easy to understand how this cycle was regarded as a major achievement in its day. It still is.

-- David Hurwitz, ClassicsToday.com"

Does anyone know why all of the MQA albums available on Tidal do not show up under masters on both the Tidal desktop app and when using Sooloos Control:PC or Touch:PC? You would think that by now this would not be the case.

A classical piano and jazz fusion methinks cool
However to me original.

Hi Tarkus,

Masters tab in Tidal is not exhaustive, I think the rest of the tabs are not as well. They show a selection of 40-50 of the albums under their respective categories. We have lost track of the dripfeed of MQA albums coming online through TIDAL so the next best method is to search for what you like and check for the M symbol next to the album title. This appears in the TIDAL Desktop App for Mac and PC. It does not appear in the mobile app yet.

Thereafter, what I like to do is save the Masters albums in a playlist in TIDAL, and that can be retrieved from Sooloos, Roon etc easily.

Hope this helps /bt

Never mind Blondie, IMO the best of the latest MQA additions are...

- "Eternal Stories" Quatuor Ebene (great recording)
- "Ma peau aime" Alma (I am a sucker for beautiful female French vocals Eurovision or not).
