Hello Andreas
I cant comment on the G98, but I have replaced the drive in my 598DH (with supervison by MI, thanks again). I believe it's my 598 internal view in Duncan's Meridian info.
Looking at the internal view for the G98, they look to be almost the same layout.
I did not have to remove the upper board, just loosen it a little, in order to give enough room to remove the black metal covering the drive.
I cant remember there being any thing dificult or fiddly once the drive was revealed.
best of luck
regards
Matthew

No, it's pretty straight forward. A 7mm nut driver will make life easier taking the sheet metal cover off the drive.
Cheers, Jason.
