I want to connect a turntable to a pair of DSP5000. Which is the best way to connect it ? Is the 221 MPMAX the best way to do it with no processor?

Depends if you have a phono stage or not and whether your cartridge is MM or MC.

I use a 562 with an internal 516 MM phono stage. I like it but others think better can be achieved for less outlay.

A 221MPMAX would work with an external phono stage. So might the new Distributor 1 but can't speak for how the comms would work.

You'd still need a phono stage to go into the 221.

For the money they don't look bad value these days since they'll give you 24/96 output.

Sooloos, Roon, G series (with LPS upgrade), 800 series (with LPS upgrade), HD621, AC200, Prime and PS, DSPs old and new.

Purdeys, Moke, Leica, 'Blad. Only the best.

Ruben,

Look at the PS audio NuWave phono converter. It has SPDIF out, so you could connect it directly to the DSP5000. Plus it seems like they are discounting it right now.
