I know Sky added the ability to control AV receivers from their SkyHD remote controls.

I've been searching for a while with no luck, has anyone successfully programmed their SkyHD Remote to control the volume on their Meridian processor.

Thanks
Duncan

Hi Duncan,

Sky+ Remote Setup Info

I have used this method and codes to control my Pioneer Plasma.

However, the "AV Amp Volume/Mute Control Punch Thru" I could never get this to work frown
If you do get this to work, let me know.

It`s a shame the SKY remote is not a learning device.

Regards,
Carl

I tried a while back and never got it to work. It would be awesome if it did.

I got the 1TB box a month or so ago. I wonder if the remote with that works....will report back

OK...

It doesn't seem to work with code 0297. But 0297 doesn't make the remote blink twice. Later today I'll try with some other codes. I seem to recall I had the same issue last time. I'm not sure 0297 is on the RCU chip???

I got my 1TB a couple of days ago which prompted me to look at this again as the remote is a grey one with Rev 8r.

Looking at some internet site, it appears that these codes are for the Sky+ remote rather than the SkyHD remote.

Might try and give Sky a call later.

Hi,

I know this is digging up an old thread but as the thread didn't conclude, I wondered if anyone has subsequently got this working? I have tried on a range of Sky remotes (still got one to try) with 0297 not recognised by any if them so far...

Should I conclude (from the low response and my own trials!) that despite a code being available for the Sky remote to control Meridian that it is actually not possible?

Real shame if that's the case as it would be very useful (I would imagine for many people with Meridian kit)....

I too tried, all I really wanted was for the volume buttons to work, but nope I could not get it to work. It's a pity that the Sky remote does not support basic learning functions.

Carl

I went the other way. I programmed the MSR+ to work Sky instead smile

Yep, so did I but I still tend to favour using the SKY remote as it is more ergonomic.

Ok, so having this thread dug back up again; it spurred me on to finally fix this.

I have a silent PC in the bottom of the hifi rack, with 2x RS232 ports (USB dongles). I'm using this to capture the SKY remote signal via a global cache GC-IRE IR receiver, decode it and then send it out to the processor via the 2nd RS232 port.

Currently I only capture the vol+, vol- & SKY (switches to Sky input if not selected) buttons, but think that is enough for now.

The capture code was a pain (it's in a horrible format), but finally got it working really well.

Thanks
